Before 1558 Suffolk was in the province of Canterbury and diocese of Norwich. The Archdeaconry of Suffolk covers East Suffolk. The Archdeaconry of Sudbury covers West Suffolk. Suffolk testators are also to be found in the records of the consistory court of Norwich and the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.
